Protecting workers’ rights

Since our early days we have taken a proactive approach to ensure everyone involved in the making of our products is doing so under fair and decent working conditions. We joined the organization Fair Wear in 2008 to help us monitor and improve labour standards throughout our production chain. Each year, Fair Wear evaluate our progress and publish the details of our performance. We achieved Leader status for demonstrating advanced levels in social responsibility, a grade we have proudly maintained every year since 2014. Our goal now is to expand our monitoring and improvement programme across all tiers of our supply chain by FY 26/27. 

Fair Wear Leader​

Each year Fair Wear conducts a brand performance check to assess our progress against their code of labour practices, which covers complex issues like living wages and freedom of association. Achieving a Leader grade requires going above and beyond auditing. We look at how we can improve our own purchasing practices and work with our partners towards achieving living wage levels, and we invest in training as a vital tool for progress. In total 30% of our partners and subcontractors have participated in workplace trainings during the last year.  

Italy Fashion Working Group​

As one of our biggest producing regions, we create many products in Italy, from denim and knitwear to shoes and bags. Whilst we carry out social audits with our product manufacturers and their subcontractors, we also work with Italy Fashion Working Group (IFWG) to collaborate with brands to raise labour standards in Italian factories and address key issues such as migrant labour together. We work with IFWG to deliver trainings for suppliers, subcontractors, and auditors to share learnings and best practices that can inspire improvements across the industry. ​​
